Beats by Dre just gave out another hint on their launching of a fourth generation of PowerBeats. In a recent iOS 13.3.1 software update release, a few icons were shown depicting the design of the new earbuds, according to a post on MacRumors. The PowerBeats 4 is shown to feature a design that’s a mix of the current PowerBeats 3 earbuds and the PowerBeats Pro wireless earbuds. Like the PowerBeats Pro, the PowerBeats 4 appears to have a more curved finish, an angled in-ear fit, and wraparound earhooks. However, the PowerBeats 4, like the current PowerBeats 3, will be attached with a wire. But unlike the third version, the PowerBeats 4 will have the wire trailing down from the bottom of the earhook instead of having it on the opposite side. Possible Pricing

In all, the PowerBeats 4 may likely be more identical with the PowerBeats Pro, but with a wire and a more affordable price tag, MacRumors guesses. The Apple charges $249.95 for the PowerBeats Pro, and $199.95 for the PowerBeats3. “It’s likely the PowerBeats 4 will be priced similarly to PowerBeats3,” PowerBeats said.

Other Features Expected

Signs on a PowerBeats 4 were first unveiled in December 2019 through the iOS 13.3 beta update. Earlier hints formed expectations of the PowerBeats 4 offering the same features that had been added to modern earbuds like the AirPods 2, AirPods Pro, and PowerBeats Pro. This new feature includes an H1 chip. Compared to the older, W1 chip, the new chipset from Apple offers improved battery life and better connectivity across various devices. The wire, notwithstanding, the PowerBeats 4 are still connectible to devices via Bluetooth, thus, will greatly benefit from this. If the PowerBeats 4 is indeed installed with the H1 chipset, earphones may be able to support the “Announce Messages with Siri” feature that was rolled out to the current-generation AirPods with the iOS 13.2 operating system. There’s no word yet on when Apple plans to release the PowerBeats 4, but considering that the PowerBeats 3 were rolled out alongside the iPhone 7, one can expect the upcoming earphones to make their debut at the launch of Apple’s next-generation smartphone.
